Africa is the world’s second-largest and second-most populous continent, covering about one-fifth of Earth’s land surface. It can be divided into five major sub-regions: Sub-Saharan Africa; North Africa including Egypt, Morocco, and Algeria. West Africa, including Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal. Central Africa, East Africa, including Kenya, Ethiopia, and Tanzania. Southern Africa, including South Africa and Zimbabwe.
